Job Summary:

The Head of FX Sales will lead and manage the cross-border foreign exchange sales operations for the U.S. region. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and establish strong relationships with corporate clients, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders. The role demands a results-driven leader with deep expertise in FX markets, cross-border payments, and client relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership:
  • Lead and manage the FX sales team across North America, ensuring alignment with global sales objectives and local market needs.
  • Develop and execute a regional sales strategy to increase market share, enhance client retention, and drive sustainable revenue growth in the cross-border FX space.
  • Oversee client acquisition efforts, identifying new business opportunities and nurturing existing client relationships to ensure long-term success.
  • Set and achieve sales targets, KPIs, and performance metrics for the North American FX team.
  • Market Strategy & Business Development:
  • Identify and target key segments for cross-border FX services, including multinational corporations, banks, fintechs, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including C-suite executives, financial officers, and decision-makers at prospective and existing clients.
  • Work closely with the global team to adapt regional sales strategies and product offerings to meet the needs of the North American market.
  • Team Management & Development:
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Provide coaching, training, and support to team members to enhance sales skills, product knowledge, and market insights.
  • Ensure the team is well-equipped to respond to client inquiries, demonstrate value propositions, and close deals effectively.
  • Market Intelligence & Reporting:
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments in North America that may impact FX sales strategies.
  • Provide regular updates and performance reports to senior leadership on sales performance, pipeline status, and market opportunities.
  • Use data and insights to refine sales strategies and improve the client experience.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
  • Work closely with the trading desk, operations, compliance, and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies and client service.
  • Collaborate with product managers to provide client feedback on FX offerings and influence the development of new products and services tailored to regional needs.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in FX sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in driving sales growth and managing high-performing sales teams within the financial services or foreign exchange sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of the North American FX market, cross-border payments, and currency risk management.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory environment affecting FX and cross-border transactions in North America.
  • Leadership Skills:
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a sales team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with clients at the C-suite level.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, adapt to changing market conditions and deliver results.
  • Client Relationship Management:
  • Exceptional client-facing skills and the ability to build long-lasting, trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and an ability to understand clients' needs, providing tailored FX solutions.
  • Education & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CFA, FX Diploma) are highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Familiarity with FX trading platforms, tools, and technologies used in cross-border payments.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, sales forecasting, and reporting tools.
