Job Description:
The VP Credit Risk Model Development Officer is responsible for developing and enhancing the credit risk model system, including credit rating, early warning, and provisioning. The position also involves ongoing model performance monitoring, business-as-usual communication, and vendor management.Client DetailsForeign corporate and investment bank, with office in Midtown.DescriptionResponsibilities:
  • Engage actively in the development, calibration, and management of credit risk models, including internalizing vendor project support.
  • Continuously monitor model performance and provide recommendations for enhancements.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, such as the Head Office, business lines, external consultants, and regulators.
  • Assess internal and external practices, including rating agency reports, industry peers, and local regulatory requirements, to ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Identify, act on, and escalate risks, holding accountability for risk management duties.
  • Demonstrate risk awareness by adhering to all policies, procedures, and internal controls in daily activities.
  • Perform due diligence tasks for related vendors as required by the Branch Vendor Management program.ProfileEducation and Experience Requirements:
    • Master's degree or higher in finance, financial engineering, mathematics, or related fields.
    • Minimum of 6 years of experience in areas such as wholesale credit model development, validation, or credit rating at a rating agency.
    • Strong understanding of banking credit principles.
    • Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, FRM) are advantageous.
    • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Skilled in Python, SAS, and VBA.Skills and Knowledge:
      • In-depth knowledge of various credit rating model development and validation techniques.
      • Strong understanding of credit products and lending principles.
      • Familiarity with financial markets, reporting, and banking operations.
      • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
      • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
