S3/Strategic Staffing Solutions has a VP and Associate level Negotiator opportunity for a leading Investment Management client in Dallas, TX! This position is on site in Dallas, TX. Please read further if you would like to learn more about this amazing opportunity!

Dallas Openings:

  • 1 VP Level: $140k–$190k
  • 1 Associate Level: $105k–$130k

Qualifications:

  • Prefer to focus on candidates with direct ISDA/CSA/MCA negotiation experience
  • Experience in Prime itself would be a great plus
  • Prime world is fast-faced and driven by fund launches, so we are looking for individuals who can hit the ground running
  • Legal background would be helpful for the technical aspect of the role, as the documentation negotiated can be complex
  • We also require candidates to be open to learning new policies & processes
  • Candidates who are clear communicators and confident in engaging in a dialogue is also beneficial to the nature of this role

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for complete documentation process from drafting, reviewing and negotiating to execution & filing of the CDEA, ISDA/CSA, ancillary documents such as novations and related regulatory initial margin documents;
  • Experience in Commodity transaction related documents desirable – e.g. power and gas a annexes, EFETS, NAESBs, Power Purchase and Sale Agreements etc.Review of legal opinions on netting and collateral enforceability including liaising with external counsel;
  • Development and execution of negotiation strategies, outside of a playbook, to balance client and GS needs;
  • Independently lead complex and/or sensitive negotiations for high profile clients;
  • Working closely with the Franchise and Prime business, in particular (Franchise) New Business Group and Client Services
  • Provide mentoring, training and coaching for junior team members;
  • Responding to queries on the master documentation from various departments including the front office;
  • Ongoing opportunity to challenge existing controls/processes and leverage your experience to identify risks and improve the effectiveness of the team; and
  • Develop and nurture relationships across the firm to build consensus and execute on initiatives;
  • Actively participate in community engagements to foster PDO's culture of support and inclusiveness.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent or JD with a minimum of three years of experience in Legal/Trading Documentation role (including within a Credit, Risk or Treasury function) or attorney/paralegal experience within a law firm.
  • Knowledge of various legal entities including funds, insurance companies and pensions.
  • Proven excellent organizational and prioritisation skills and attention to detail, especially under pressure.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and review detailed legal documents with an eye for detail and accuracy, particularly around documentation terms.
  • Ability to ensure consistency across documentation and know when to escalate issues.
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Enthusiasm and interest in development of documentation skills and using such skills for the completion of negotiation process.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills and develop full job ownership.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a keen interest in derivatives, Commodities, repo, securities lending markets and products and/or prime brokerage products and services.
  • Ability to interact with and influence business stakeholders and clients in order to negotiate, build consensus, control risks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Proficient in IT and able to adapt to various databases/systems.
  • Additional language skills (in French, German, Italian or Spanish) would be preferable for verbal and written communication.
