Share job Leadership opportunity in Dallas, strong backlog with good client base Title: Vice President of Construction Location: Dallas, TX Job Type: Full-Time Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Construction to lead our construction projects in the education and municipal sectors. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of educational and municipal construction. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Management:
  • Oversee all construction activities for education and municipal projects.
  • Lead and mentor a team of project managers, engineers, and construction professionals.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure project success.
Project Planning, Budget and Execution:
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop project plans and schedules.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary.
  • Develop and manage project budgets.
  • Ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts for senior management.
Stakeholder Communication:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, government officials, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates on project status and address any concerns or issues.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Regularly update clients on project progress, addressing any concerns or changes promptly.
  • Foster strong, long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations and ensure projects comply with all legal requirements.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss project status, challenges, and solutions.
  • Promote a collaborative work environment to enhance team performance and morale.
  • Subcontractors and Suppliers:
  • Select and manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Community and Public Relations:
  • Engage with the local community to address any concerns related to construction activities.
  • Represent the company at public meetings and forums, providing updates on project progress and impact.
  • Communicate with financial stakeholders, including investors and lenders, to provide updates on project financials.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Ensure transparency and accountability in all financial dealings.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing education and municipal construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
