SUMMARY: The Vice President of Human Resources (VP HR) is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the overall management of the organization's HR functions. VP HR will work closely with executive leadership to develop and execute HR strategies that support business objectives, foster a positive corporate culture, and drive talent management and organizational effectiveness. This includes talent acquisition, leadership development, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, compliance, and organizational design.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages Human Resources staff and plans, develops, recommends, and implements human resources activities, policies, procedures, and programs for the organization, assisting upper management as requested.
- Direct, organizes, plans, and develops the implementation and administration of human resources functions and carries out policies and procedures relating to all phases of human resources activities.
- Oversees activities relating to personnel rules and regulations, staffing, employee education and training, management development, labor relations, affirmative action, workers' compensation administration, benefits administration, and salary administration.
- Manages activities related to staffing, employee education and training, management development, labor relations, affirmative action, benefits administration, and salary administration.
- Provides executive-level guidance and leadership to the organization's Human Resources operations and oversees the workflow of the department.
- Directs human resource functions, including staffing, employee orientation, education and training, management development, employee and labor relations, affirmative action compliance, policies and procedures, workers' compensation administration, wage and salary administration, benefits administration, organizational development, and employee assistance.
- Directs staff personnel who assist in identifying, evaluating, and resolving human relations and work performance problems within the establishment to facilitate communication and improve employee relations skills and work performance.
- Collaborates with top executives to define the organization's long-term mission and goals and identify ways to support them.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates legally compliant human resource policies, procedures, and best practices; and identifies and implements long-range strategic goals.
- Oversees and manages payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of employee compensation in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Ensure HR policies and practices adhere to Minnesota's employment laws and regulations, addressing location-specific compliance requirements effectively and proactively.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Education
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (master's degree or HR certification is preferred like SPHR, SHRM-SCP).
Experience
- 7-10 years of HR experience, including leadership and payroll administration roles.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, compensation strategies, and talent management.
- Proven ability to align HR strategies with business objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex employee issues with professionalism and confidentiality.
Skills and Knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
- Strong leadership, change management, and problem-solving skills.
- Deep understanding of employment laws and HR best practices, particularly within Minnesota and at the federal level.
