My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced VP of Manufacturing. Inclusive in responsibilities are management and oversight of the following areas: grower relations, production planning, raw material planning, logistics, standard operating procedure logging, procurement, research and development, quality, food safety and customer service.

Description
Supply Chain Selection, Quality and Integrity
- Grower & other Vendor Relations
- Identify and contract with growers to ensure adequate supply appropriately aligned with manufacturing needs (location, quantity, etc.)
- Maintain grower relations through timely communication of company objectives, grower performance and in person meetings annually.
Production Quality Efficiency & Raw Material Planning
- Work with Sales to ensure that forecasts are accurate, timely and relevant for production planning purposes. Maintain a rolling 90 day forecast in addition to the annual planning that includes promotions.
- Ensure maintenance of master production planning tools, and report production forecast and plan to Management in the weekly SLT meeting.
- Maintain master inventory tool. Inputs are to be updated DAILY and inventory position and forecast are to be reported out WEEKLY in the SLT meeting and prior to the next weeks' production.
- Ensure that current manufacturing standards are in good standing with regulatory authorities, that we are packing at the highest level of quality and safety possible and doing so in an efficient manner.
- Identify new manufacturing techniques or standards in an effort to move toward GMP certification, then SQF.
Logistics
- Work with logistics providers to ensure timely deliveries at the lowest cost.
- On Time Delivery (OTD) defined as meeting customer expectations for arrival date. Departing on time is not OTD.
Quality Assurance / Food Safety
- Keep HACCP current as manufacturing needs change.
- Ensure that the company is produced using the highest quality ingredients available at the best cost.
- Ensure that each production run meets or exceeds specification requirements and report those that do not.
- Ensure that the product is safe to consume through shelf life and meets nutritional panel expectations.
- Ensure nutritional panels and other labels are compliant with FDA standards.
Financial Responsibility
- Develop annual budget and ensure that Operations is fiscally responsible and accountable to every spend.
- Evaluate all areas of responsibility and identify cost savings to pursue
- Conduct Accounting Processes as appropriate or assigned. (i.e. Inventory)
Reporting
- Provide weekly and monthly ops reports to President and management team
- Provide annual planning and goal development - report on progress through monthly ops reports
- Establish weekly attention to Ops and Manufacturing KPIs
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in plant management, manufacturing or operations within the food or beverage manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in commissioning and building out new manufacturing facilities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of production management, quality control, and safety standards.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to drive operational excellence.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
