Our client is a cold forming operation, and they are hiring a VP of Operations / COO to oversee the day-to-day production, quality and scheduling at this organization. This is a great opportunity for a Director of Operations or Manufacturing Manager that is looking to advance their career! The VP of Operations will be overseeing 6 direct reports and nearly 200 indirect employees. What you will be doing:
- Leading the daily operations of the company and holding people accountable when necessary
- Be a technical resource, especially in cold forming, for the company.
- Overseeing the entire manufacturing operation, assessing technical needs and capabilities of each department
- Developing and implementing strategies, procedures and business plans needed to enhance company growth and productivity
- Establishing company goals, performance measurements and strategic growth, with a focus on quality improvement, lean manufacturing and taking care of the customers
- Reviewing and controlling production and departmental costs
- Working closely with the CEO and CFO on all matters related to the business
What they are looking for:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- Good financial education / knowledge and ability to understand the business side of the company, an MBA would be great
- Must have strong cold forming technical experience
- At least 5 years management experience
- Any experience in heat treating / plating processes a big plus
- Good lean manufacturing or Total Quality Management processes is very helpful
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills are needed
- Must have good people management skills
