Background

Counterparty Credit Risk Analytics (Data Controls & Integrity) is a function within GBAM Risk. The group's primary function is to ensure adequate controls and processes exist to validate the firm's Traded Products activity for the purposes of Credit and Capital (Basel) calculations.

CCRA ARCTIC Data Management is responsible for data validation of the Traded Products repository (ARCTIC) utilized in Basel RWA capital calculations. The Basel control framework requires accurate representation of the bank's Books and Records in all RWA capital calculations performed. In addition, given that ARCTIC is also the data source for a number of Credit and Collateral Management processes, the team is also involved in managing these related work-streams.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Challenge existing processes to develop synergies, ensure alignment, and stronger controls.
  • View the Credit and Capital environment from a holistic standpoint, and identify inter-connecting issues.
  • Leverage knowledge of Balance Sheet management and challenge certain Accounting or GL entries as appropriate.
  • Oversee reconciliation results across specific GL Asset/Liability classes and handle day-to-day inquiries from numerous downstream stakeholders.
  • Address data gaps and execute tactical and strategic solutions.
  • Ensure trade and indicative data is complete, accurate, and received on a timely basis.
  • Liaise with Middle Office and Legal Entity Controllers on reconciliation, aiming to resolve all outstanding breaks.
  • Work with Technology groups to establish controls ensuring all critical dependencies and batch processing are identified and managed.
  • Provide business specifications for technology enhancements.
  • Coordinate with Middle Office and technology to ensure accuracy of the resolution implementation.
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly reporting presentations for senior management and Enterprise Capital Reporting.

Candidate Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • Preferred candidate will have Accounting qualifications (CPA/Chartered).
  • Experience in Finance, Credit Risk, and Data Reporting.
  • Strong Traded Products knowledge, with exposure to Credit Risk and Basel rules.
  • 3+ years experience in reporting metrics to management and 2+ years experience in data analysis.
  • Ideally, basic knowledge of the overall ARCTIC vs. GL Reconciliation process.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Knowledge of Chart of Accounts hierarchy, with preferred knowledge of Oracle, SAP, or Insight General Ledger.

Majors Considered: Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, and Information Systems with a Business concentration.
