**GENERAL SUMMARY:**
The role of the System VP, Ancillary and Support Services is to create and facilitate connectedness, collaboration, consistency, strategy, economies of scale, and governance for System Ancillary Services (including Radiology, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Respiratory Care, Rehab/Wound Care, Radiation Oncology, and System Support Services (including Biomed, Facilities, Environmental Services and Nutritional Services) across our organization through a matrixed partnership between AdventHealth Clinical and Supply Chain. The breadth of this role is applicable to all settings to include ambulatory, acute care, and retail settings. The System VP will work closely and co-report into both the Chief Clinical Officer and the Chief Supply Chain Officer.
**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:**
**Scope of Responsibility**
- Creates connectivity, cohesiveness, and standardization among all regions within the clinical ancillary and support service areas to align and ensure consistent care is provided to all patients regardless of point of entry
- Initiates and designs strategic direction across each ancillary and support services, advocate for system support, implement strategic plans in conjunction with operational owners
- Leverages existing leadership in all settings to generate engagement and scale strategies across the organization in a systematic approach to reduce variation
- Designs cross-divisional and cross-disciplined governance network across each ancillary and support service area to oversee decisions and performance throughout the organization
- Works collaboratively with physician, clinical, supply chain, and administrative constituents to generate input into new opportunities and implement system wide strategies
- Proactively investigates organization opportunities in broader strategic partnerships and/or JV relationships as it relates specifically to the ancillary and support services; determines and recommends partnerships for future engagements
- Leads system level negotiations with key strategic partners and ensures accountability throughout the partnership including alignment through contracting, purchasing, logistics, and developing external relationships
- Develops and implements strategic plans and short/long term goals throughout the system ancillary and support service lines. Integrates plans and programs with overall organization's strategic plan and mission.
- Identifies strategic synergies and facilitate cross-functional business focus, planning and data analysis, including providing business intelligence, market research and analytics, scenario planning, modeling, and forecasting to clinical leadership in support of growth opportunities and strategic initiatives
- Promotes communication and collaboration of interdisciplinary processes that focus on safety and best-practice outcomes for patients across the continuum
- Supports and facilitates leadership development and succession planning for all team members. Actively mentoring others into leadership roles
**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED** **:**
- Knowledge of clinical and support practices and processes, legal and regulatory requirements and mandates, and the ability to gather and evaluate data and outcome results to use in planning hospital operations, budgets, and process improvement
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Able to effectively express ideas and views through public speaking, presentations, reports, and professional correspondence
- Exceptional people management, leadership skills, and the capacity to relate to people in a manner that wins confidence and establishes support
- Strategic vision and thinking, ability to position the organization for the future, looking beyond the present situation to conceptualize key trends and identify changing market demands
- Strong business acumen, intelligence, and capacity; able to think strategically and implement tactically
- Approaches his/her work as an interconnected system; ability to understand major objectives and break them down into meaningful action steps
- Strong organizational abilities and the flexibility to adjust to changing conditions and the various details of the position
- Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office suite
Qualifications
**_KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:_**
Experience managing some part of ancillary and support services or other applicable hospital operations
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:**
Bachelor's degree in Business administration, Healthcare Administration or equivalent
Minimum of ten (10) years in progressively leadership experience in the healthcare field
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in in a health care setting
**_EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:_**
Master's degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration or equivalent
