- Set tables with the proper china and flatware prior to the entry of residents.
- Participate in minimal food preparation. (Salad, Dessert, Soup, and Beverages)
- Basic cleaning of the dining room.
- Setup and prepare buffet line for residents.
- Serve residents promptly and appropriately.
- Clear dishes following meals in preparation for the Dishwasher.
Other Responsibilities
- 1. Collect and appropriately launder tablecloths and napkins
- 2. Following meals, appropriately date and place foods in the correct storage space.
- 3. Break stock down upon arrival and place it in the proper area

Ability to communicate effectively with residents in taking orders and serving each of them to their each and every need.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Reasoning AbilityThe waiter/waitress must have the ability to follow directions from the Culinary Service Staff and residents, as well as the ability to read written instructions for equipment or plans for a particular shift. Distance vision is frequently required to be able to recognize when a resident is in need of assistance (drink refills, condiments, etc.) Depth perception is frequently required to insure safe placement of food and beverages on the resident's table.Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat when in kitchens, or airborne particles from cleaning supplies, exhaust from machinery, and vibration from machinery. The noise level in the work environment ranges from very quiet during down times in the kitchen to very loud in the equipment rooms, kitchens, and dining rooms.
