Position Summary/General Description:

A Wardrobe Attendant is responsible for maintaining the uniforms for all employees.

Expectations:

  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude toward customers and co-workers.
  • Consistently report to work on time prepared to perform duties of position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sew in a neat, professional and efficient manner.
  • Be creative in problem solving ways to meet employee uniform needs/requests where resources are limited.
  • Multitask duties such as, but not limited to: Selecting, fitting, and distributing uniforms to employees; pressing uniforms; performing minor repairs; sewing Perma-trak labels on uniforms; answering the phone; making minor alterations to uniforms; and filing, measuring and recording transactions in Uniform Manager Software.
  • Clearly explain all wardrobe contracts and/or forms to employees and ensure that employees understand the contracts.
  • Handle all customer requests and complaints in a welcoming, friendly, prompt and professional manner. Requests supervisor assistance when needed.
  • Maintain and exhibit patience in performing job duties and working will all customers.
  • Build relationships and loyalty with guests through sincere and meaningful interactions (e.g., learn guests' names and preferences; connect with them individually and professionally; smile; make eye contact and verbally greets guests).
  • Adhere to all administrative policies (LDC Policy & Procedure Manual and departmental procedures), safety rules and health regulations.
  • Ensure that clothes are cleaned and in good condition.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station at all times.
  • Place, fit, and distribute shoe orders to/for employees.
  • Thoroughly inspect uniforms to identify any future repairs and preemptively repair uniforms to minimize an employee having to repeatedly return to the wardrobe department for maintenance to uniform.
  • Thoroughly maintain and review daily function sheets/pass down log.
  • Track, record, dispatch and/or receive uniforms from UniFirst and/or Arnies.
  • Assist in quarterly and yearly inventory of uniforms in the wardrobe department.
  • Train new employees.
  • Work with other wardrobe staff to assemble uniforms for all employees.
  • Maintain confidential and/or sensitive information.
  • Work under pressure; maintain regular and punctual attendance including working odd or unusual hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Be a team player (e.g., work toward team goals and foster a collaborative and positive work environment; put the team first; assist coworkers; treat all coworkers with kindness, courtesy and respect; never engage in negativity; maintain openness to coaching, learning and improving; receptive to change and willingness to embrace challenges with team-spirit).
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of services, amenities, surroundings (e.g., supermarket, gift shop, restaurants, theater, etc.), providing accurate directions and information for guest inquiries about promotions and special events.
  • At all times maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public (e.g., coworkers, clients and vendors).
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED Certification preferred.
  • Relevant fitting and sewing experience preferred.

Licensing & Certification:

  • None.

Computer Equipment, Software, Machinery:

  • Proficient in basic computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficient with basic office equipment (e.g., computer, photocopying and faxing).
  • Ability to use Uniform Manager Software.
  • Ability to operate a sewing machine, printer, handheld scanner, barcode printer, conveyor, iron, and use sewing tools (e.g., scissors, needle nose pliers, rippers, etc.)

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to hear, talk, walk and repetitively use hands 51-100% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to bend over, crouch/stoop, kneel, reach overhead, sit, stand and turn/twist 25-50% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to balance/climb and crawl 1-24% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to push/pull 1-25 lbs. 25-50% of the time and 25-50+ lbs. 1-24% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to carry1-25 lbs. 25-50% of the time and 25-50+ lbs. 1-24% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to lift1-25 lbs. 25-50% of the time and 25-50+ lbs. 1-24% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to slide/transfer 25 lbs. 25-50% of the time and 25-50+ lbs. 1-24% of the time.

Essential Mental Demands:

  • Requires the ability to organize, make decisions, interpret data, read and write 51-100% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to solve problems and plan 25-50% of the time.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

  • The job is performed indoors.
