(260 days), 8 hours/day with 30 minute unpaid lunch break DEPARTMENT: Building and Grounds EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Non-Exempt CATEGORY: Support REPORTS TO: Director of Operations Custodial Supervisor SUPERVISES: Warehouse 1 MINIMUM PAY RATE: $15.45/hour General Responsibilities/Job Summary: Duties involve receiving, loading, transporting and delivering, supplies and equipment to all district facilities and maintaining warehouse records. Provide support to Operations with daily supply deliveries and filled supply requests. Assignments are stable in nature and are carried out in accordance with instructions and existing precedents, practices, and procedures. Work involves physical effort and exposure to the elements and potential work hazards. Essential Functions/Duties:
  • Order supplies based on inventory standards in the established budget and through item purchasing criteria as needed
  • Crosscheck incoming supplies and equipment against purchase order for accuracy
  • Track purchase orders; initiate action to correct deficiencies in items received
  • Receive, inspect, store, rotate, and select requisitioned items and handle daily supply/banking support
  • Load, transport, unload, and deliver supplies, and equipment
  • Operate on and off-road district vehicles
  • Operate box truck with lift gate, forklift, and pallet jack
  • Responsible for clearing snow and ice from school district vans/trucks
  • Maintain automated requisitioning, purchasing, inventory, and disbursement of warehouse data as needed
  • Assist in maintaining the capital inventory
  • Receive, sort, and deliver incoming and outgoing mail; meter mail as needed
  • Attend work regularly and on time and complete assigned tasks
Additional Duties:
  • Assist with shoveling snow and salting sidewalks
  • Correct or report all maintenance issues, fire hazards, or safety issues to the supervisor immediately
  • Perform minor equipment repairs and report major equipment repairs
  • Operate standard office equipment; file
  • Answer telephone questions, take messages, or refer caller to the appropriate party
  • Schedule/track use of district vehicles
  • Assist Custodial Supervisor, Custodial I and II, and Maintenance Department as needed and directed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor(s)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, crouch, crawl, reach, lean, handle, finger, feel, talk, hear, see, push, pull, and lift and carry up to 50 lbs or more
  • Some knowledge of manual laboring principles and practices
  • Some knowledge of mechanical and laboring hazards and related safety precautions
  • Ability to supervise Warehouse I in the absence of the Custodial Supervisor
  • Ability to maintain standard warehouse records and prepare related reports
  • Some knowledge of computer principles and practices
  • Knowledge of light automotive equipment operation principles and practices
  • Willingness to attend and participate in job specific and safety training
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Understand and follow oral and written procedures, directives, and instructions
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to operate digital mail machine and scale
  • Ability to care for, and properly use, light automotive and material movement tools
  • Ability to perform minor equipment maintenance
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with associates, school staff, shipment recipients, and suppliers
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work and in working relations with associates, district staff and vendors
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education and Training: High School Diploma;
  • Experience: One year of warehousing experience or any equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience
  • Required Certification/Licenses: Valid PA driver's license
