Job Description:

As a Warehouse Assistant specializing in shipping and stock, you will play a vital role in the efficient operation of our warehouse facility. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around managing inventory, preparing shipments, and ensuring accurate documentation of goods received and dispatched. You will work closely with the warehouse team to maintain smooth workflow and uphold high standards of efficiency and accuracy. Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:
    • Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming shipments of goods.
    • Organize and maintain inventory storage areas to facilitate easy access and accurate stock counts.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile physical stock counts with system records.
    • Identify and report any discrepancies or damaged goods to the appropriate personnel.
  • Order Processing and Fulfillment:
    • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to established procedures and customer requirements.
    • Ensure accuracy in picking items and verify the correct quantity and quality of products before dispatch.
    • Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation for outbound shipments.
    • Coordinate with shipping carriers or logistics partners to arrange for timely and cost-effective delivery of orders.
  • Shipping and Receiving:
    • Coordinate the inbound and outbound movement of goods, including loading and unloading shipments.
    • Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure they meet quality standards and are properly packaged for transit.
    • Record incoming and outgoing shipments in inventory management systems, updating records with relevant information such as tracking numbers and delivery dates.
  • Stock Organization and Maintenance:
    • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, ensuring that stock is stored safely and in compliance with safety regulations.
    • Rotate stock as needed to prevent spoilage or damage, following the FIFO (first in, first out) principle.
    • Monitor stock levels and replenish inventory as necessary to fulfill orders and prevent stockouts.
    • Assist with periodic stock takes and cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy.
  • Quality Control:
    • Conduct visual inspections of goods to ensure they meet quality standards before shipping.
    • Report any quality issues or defects to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
    • Follow established procedures for handling and storing sensitive or hazardous materials.
    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in warehouse operations is a plus.
    • Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, with specific experience in shipping and stock management preferred.
    • Familiarity with inventory management software and barcode scanning systems.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory and documentation.
    • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    • Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
    • A willingness to adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
