Position Title: Warehouse Assistant Date: 2024

Reports To: Warehouse Manager FLSA: Non Exempt

Pay: $20/hr

NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

The Warehouse Assistant will be working with the Warehouse Team to ensure that the highest safety, quality, and productivity standards are achieved. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work as part of a team, have attention to detail and be diligent to maintain compliance with procedures.

The Warehouse Assistant will work in the main warehouse under the Warehouse Manager to address all shipping and logistics needs. Their primary responsibility will be to stack pallets, organize the warehouse, print boxes, and assist with putting together product orders. This person will be flexible, and willing to help where assigned within the warehouse. Working hours are from 11am-7pm Monday through Friday.

Requirements:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB TASKS

  • Stack boxes onto pallets and wrap pallets when complete
  • Assist with the organization and arrangement of the warehouse as directed by supervisors
  • Assist with putting together product orders with the direction of the warehouse manager and assist in large order fulfillment efforts
  • Assist with loading and unloading shipments onto and off of trucks
  • Complete paperwork for traceability using a warehouse management system
  • Assist with weekly and monthly inventory
  • Assist in verifying paperwork accuracy and completeness prior to shipping
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Supervisor and Fulfillment Supervisor to review objectives and priorities
  • Work as part of a team to improve efficiency and quality in the warehouse and in shipping and receiving
  • At times may need to print boxes using the box printer and ensure accuracy
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Follow all SQF practices and applicable regulatory requirements as trained and directed by management
  • Participate in repacking activities as needed and directed
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

REQUIRED SKILL, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES

  • Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Actively looking for ways to help people.
  • Juggling multiple responsibilities, being on time, meeting deadlines and sticking to schedules.
  • Maintaining and organizing records in compliance with the applicable regulations
  • Must be able to read and write in English

REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Strong and effective communication skills written & oral.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
  • English or Spanish speaking, bilinguality a plus.
  • 1-2 years experience working in a warehouse and/or fulfillment center required, preferably with food products preferred.
  • Forklift experience is preferred
  • Ability to read and understand English for use of required machinery.
  • Experience with Wherefour Warehouse Management System a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 11:00am - 7:00pm with the possibility of overtime on weekdays and weekends.
  • Prolonged standing for extended periods up to 8 hours and squatting and bending repeatedly
  • Lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying up to 60 pounds
  • Working with one or both hands extended overhead
