Warehouse Worker for Giovanni Food Co in BaldwinsvilleWarehouse Associate 1st ShiftGiovanni Foods Co, Inc in Baldwinsville, NY is seeking to fill two first and one second shift Warehouse Worker positions.The warehouse worker will perform duties related to incoming and outgoing shipments and the moving of products/ supplies through the plant. An employee working in this area is expected to operate as a member of a team, which includes assisting one another as needed. In the absence of the Warehouse Worker either another Warehouse Worker or an employee cross trained in that skill and that understands the food safety job requirements will perform this job function.Duties include: Load, unload and transfer incoming and outgoing merchandise to designated areas in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with company policies, GMPs, and customer requirements. Inspect forklift and other equipment before use, making minor adjustments as needed; inform supervisor of more complex repairs that may be needed so as to ensure all equipment is operating at all times. Stock and organize merchandise in the appropriate place in the warehouse by use of forklift, pallet jack or other manual means. Retrieve and supply necessary products and/or materials to coworkers in a timely manner. Inspect merchandise for deficiencies or breakages prior to shipment or warehouse storage. Record all merchandise discrepancies on appropriate paperwork and notify management. Verify products and label with appropriate identification code. Fill and ensure customer order is in accordance with packaging slip, complete appropriate paperwork, and place a copy with the merchandise for shipment. Participate in and contribute to training programs, as designated by the company, that are periodically required to enhance safety, quality, cost, or job performance. Maintain housekeeping, GMPs, and safety within the facility. Perform all other duties as needed or as requested by management.Requirements: HS Diploma or GED One year warehouse and forklift operation experience required with an excellent safety record. Previous experience with cycle counting, inventory systems and printing ticket labels a plus. Previous experience in a food manufacturing setting is preferred. Must be qualified to operate a forklift. Ability to work in a fast pace environment.Demonstrate mechanical and basic math and computer skills. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
