The warehouse associate will receive, input, sort, load and unload products and will perform various warehouse activities.An ideal applicant will be highly skilled, consistently punctual and enjoy working with a variety of skilled individuals who share similar values and goals.General Duties/ResponsibilitiesPromote culture of proper warehouse housekeeping and safety standardsTake necessary actions to correct or stop any unsafe conditions or practices and actively participate in safety initiativesSafe operation of Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) such as forklifts and pallet jacks in high pedestrian traffic production areasMaintain a current forklift operator's licensePerform every job safely, for the benefit of self, co-workers, contractors, and for the protection of facilities. This includes the use of required personal protective equipment and use of safety equipment/devices, guarding, as well as safe work practicesPerform general housekeeping and specific sanitation tasksReport any and all safety concerns and job-related injury or illness immediately to the appropriate person and assist in investigating accidentsBe aware of and follow FedUp Foods Hazard Communication planHandle inbound and outbound shipmentsAccurately document all shipmentsUnload inbound deliveries and stack them to assigned placesInspect all deliveries for potential damage or quality deficiencies before driver leaves and escalate issues accordinglyEnsure the outbound trailer meets SQF standardsLoad outbound trucks with correct inventoryCheck, verify and fill customer invoicesUse RFID equipment to track inventory movements and maintain accurate stock recordsLocate, stack, restack, and move products to pallets or crates for storage or shipmentTravel throughout the warehouse to retrieve and stack specific products and quantities in the appropriate locationsTransport raw materials to production workstationsKeep updated records of inventory and activity logsOperate and inspect powered industrial trucks (PIT) such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scissor lifts and report any irregularities to the appropriate personCharge and maintain PIT equipment safely and efficientlyFood Safety and Quality ResponsibilitiesFollow GMP policy when in the production facility and encourage your team to do the same.Understand our SQF policies relating to pest control, visitors, allergen management, and cleaning and sanitation.Demonstrate awareness of Management's Commitment to SQF and work towards Food Safety and Quality and help the company meet this commitment.If there is a problem that involves food quality and safety, report to the Quality Assurance Manager Manager so that the CAPA (corrective action, preventative action) log may be filled out, the situation be investigated, and resolved with the goal of continuous improvement of food quality and safety.Required Skills/AbilitiesAbility to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment in a safe mannerAbility to read code dates, product labels, and racking labelsGood organizational and time management skillsAbility to navigate a variety of computer software applications, previous ERP experience a plusComfortable working both independently and as a team playerAttention to detailHeightened awareness of safety precautions and hazards for self and othersExtended shifts, overtime, and weekends may be needed based on business needsFlexibility in work hours is necessary to meet operational demandsEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredWarehouse experience, minimum 1 yr preferredForklift experience requiredWork Environment/Physical Requirements30 minute unpaid lunch break; two paid 15 minute breaksProlonged periods of standing and walkingMust be able to bend, stoop, crawl, climb, and reach at timesAbility to work in a crowded, noisy manufacturing environment, and be able to navigate extremes in temperaturesAbility to push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs solo and 75 lbs sharedEEO StatementAKM provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
