Our corporate culture is about personal commitment - to our business, to each other and to our global communities.Position:Warehouse Associate - CasualPay:$18.15 / hour increases after 3 Months 10 Months and 18 Months as per the CBALocation:Hamilton - 65 East Cargo Road L0R 1W0Schedule:10 P.M - 10A.M - Flexible shifts available, no guarantee of hoursOVERALL PURPOSE:To participate in the safe, accurate and timely processing - scan, unload, cross dock and/or load, of inbound and out-bound freight, to meet DHL on-time performance standards.Responsibilities Scan freight as per Global SOP in various programsUnload and/or load freight safely, correctly and quicklyMove freight within the warehouse area as per requirementsAccurately sort & process, by deadlines, in-bound and outbound materialParticipate in the organization and clean-up of the warehouse areaParticipate in maintaining a safe and co-operative work environmentOther warehouse/retail duties as assigned by the shift Supervisor Do you have what it takes? Must have ability to lift and carry parcels, up to and including 70 lbs per piece unassisted, throughout shift100% accuracy in sort to minimize mis sortsMeet company productivity targetsResponsible for internal and external customer satisfactionHandle shipments in a manner that minimizes damageShipment processing complies with Dangerous Goods handling requirementsFollow policy and procedures as outlined by shift SupervisorMaintain a secure and safe working environment for all staffComply with Collective AgreementAlert operations management of service issues immediately as they occurProven ability to work effectively and on-time within tight time constraintsDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environmentOther duties as assigned by Supervisor/Management Preferred Qualifications: Broad general working knowledge of warehouse functionsDemonstrated knowledge and experience with the DHL operations systemAbility to communicate effectivelyHigh School diploma WORKING CONDITIONS:Often fatiguing - hot or cold warehouse environment dependent upon season. The job might often require concentrated levels of attention and physical activity.
