Warehouse Associate

Whippany Actuation Systems is looking for a Warehouse Associate to perform manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies. You will work primarily in the stock room but will also support shipping and receiving as needed.

In this role, you will typically:

  • Wrap, package, or crate and stage finished products, spares or other material in accordance with customer specifications and departmental procedures applying necessary labels and packing lists;
  • Ensure accuracy of shipment by weighing and measuring items of outgoing shipments and checking quantity of boxes, packages and contents;
  • Transport material, product, parts and supplies using dollies, hand trucks, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment using safe practices, ESD and ISO procedures;
  • Determine method of shipment, originate bill of lading, and contact carrier for pick up;
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies;
  • Pick parts, and document and allocate materials to production floor;
  • Accept goods, verify accuracy of receivables, store parts and materials, and release materials in stockroom

We require:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent;
  • At least 5 years of experience which includes shipping and receiving or stock room duties utilizing electronic recordkeeping systems;
  • Authorization to work in the US

Eligibility Requirements:

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Whippany Actuation Systems will require proof of status before employment.

We would really like to see:

  • Previous shipping/receiving, stock keeping/materials handling, and/or inventory control experience in a manufacturing or similar industrial environment;
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, math and troubleshooting skills, and organizational skills;
  • Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems;
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
  • Self-starter who is able to identify next steps and demonstrate initiative to accomplish them with little or no supervision

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to bend, stoop and twist
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers - gross and fine dexterity
  • Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting.
  • Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment.
  • Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
