Tacony Corporation is on the lookout to find their next Warehouse Associate to join the team in Fort Worth, TX. If you have a strong attention to detail and ensure customers are getting the correct order, then this role is for you! This position works Monday - Friday day shift and is eligible to earn additional income with the Incentive Bonus. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for the overall preparation of items for shipment, as well as verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments. This individual is a key part of the distribution process to ensure that the correct items/parts are picked, packed, and shipped to the consumer. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pack, seal, label and affix proper postage to items being shipped; these actions may require the use of hand tools, power tools, postage meter, computer and other similar devices.
  • Examine contents and compares with records (such as manifests or orders) to verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Record shipment data such as weight, charges, space availability, damages & discrepancies, etc., for record-keeping purposes
  • Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, route and rates
  • Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instruction for shipping and delivery of materials
  • Pull shipment from pick ticket
  • Communicate with established representatives to resolve problems such as damages, shortages, nonconformance to specifications, etc.
  • Deliver or route materials to departments using work devices such as hand-truck conveyor, sorting bins or fork truck as needed
  • Assist with inventory control and cycle counting as assigned
  • Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock
  • Cross train to work in all areas of the distribution process
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required
  • Experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
  • Must exhibit a positive attitude, team spirit, cooperation, and a willingness to learn
  • Basic computer skills
  • Understanding of general manufacturing processes and flows
  • Must be capable of performing ground picking, unloading containers and air picking.
  • Must complete forklift training and certification
Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Exposed to a normal manufacturing/distribution environment
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel or crouch for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds
  • May be exposed to mechanical or electrical hazards, therefore personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, pull, walk, stretch, reach or lift over head
