Headquartered in North Tonawanda, NY, Thruway has six branch locations across New York, Pennsylvania and Georgia.This individual is a generalist that can perform all the duties of physically receiving, picking, packing, kitting, shipping and cycle-counting. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for completion of all customers orders filled including; filling customer orders and delivering them to a delivery platform in a manner that meets company standards. Operate a forklift to pull and store bins in a neat and orderly manner. Safe operation of all equipment is the top priority of this position.Essential FunctionsReceiving: upload incoming deliveries and complete a visual inspection for damage. Verify counts and items are correct and match up with the packing slips. Receive product into internal systemOrder picking: locate product in warehouse using picket ticket. Check product and verify quantityPacking Orders: ensure items picked are correct and package to customer's requirements. Label as required by customerShipping: package shipments per customer's request. Coordinate with shipping companies to meet customer's request. Set up delivery schedule for in house deliveriesQuality Control: ensure all orders are correct to customer's sizes and specifications (measure if required) check fit-form-function. Check that orders are accurate and free of any defectsPackage and weigh any orders to customer's requirements. Conduct physical inventories as requiredOn a daily basis, inspect and do routine maintenance on equipmentTakes care of trash and cardboard in work area to keep cleanReads, orders and makes a list to pull and put away bins in a fast but safe speedUses the monthly check list to ensure forklift is in proper working conditionRequired QualificationsSelf-starter with outgoing personality, positive attitude, attention to detailExcellent communication skills including listening and reading comprehensionTeam-player who is willing to help others as neededRead and count accuratelyProfessional demeanor and appearanceSafely operate forklift and pallet jacksPrior warehouse experience is preferred, but not requiredPPE- Safety GlovesWork EnvironmentOccasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
