Are you ready to play a vital role in making a positive impact? Resource Area for Teaching (RAFT) is seeking a dedicated part-time/on-call Warehouse Associate to join our team. You will be instrumental in supporting warehouse and retail space operations, including picking up donated materials, loading and unloading trucks, and organizing inventory in the warehouse. This opportunity requires a forklift certification and a Class C driver's license. Join us in our mission to make a difference in the community!
Sample of duties include but are not limited to:
- Use forklifts, pallet jacks, hand carts, etc. to transfer and deliver goods
- Communicate, schedule and carry out material pickups with our donors
- Help to carry out all product loading and unloading tasks efficiently
- Receive and process inventory
- Unload, stack, move, and place products in designated areas
- Move and transfer products between various sections of the warehouse and store as needed
- Minor facilities support
- Label warehouse stock for quick and easy identification and retrieval
- Stack, shelve, and stage items for storage and shipment as necessary
- Ensure tools and equipment are kept clean and in working order
- Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to upper management
- Follow all warehouse policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Adhere to health and safety rules and regulations at all times
- Wear protective clothing and equipment as required
- Operate tools and machinery safely and efficiently according to company protocol
- Work with other warehouse team members to effectively complete assigned tasks
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous warehouse/truck driving experience preferred
- Forklift Certification or ability to complete forklift training
- Physical stamina; must be able to lift 50+ pounds at a time
- Able to work long hours on one's feet and perform physically demanding tasks
- Familiar with standard warehouse tools and equipment
- Clean DMV record
Required Education and Experience:
- 1 or more years of warehouse or similar experience
- Valid State of California Driver's License required
RAFT helps bridge the education gap for students and communities by offering engaging STEAM resources to encourage the next generation of innovators, problem solvers, and creators. RAFTs this by providing STEAM Project Kits, Maker Mobile van visits, and makerspace builds STEAM summer camps, tailored educator workshops, and free online learning activity sheets. RAFTs unique found engineering process repurposes donated materials that would have otherwise been sent to the landfill into accessible, low-cost STEAM Project Kits and assembled by volunteers. Educators, and now parents, can become RAFT members and shop at the warehouse store facility for affordable items devoted to hands-on learning.
