Job Description Warehouse/CMV
Objective A Warehouse Associate is responsible for assisting with the efficient day-to-day operation of the warehouse. This role is vital to the success of DI, as our Warehouse Associates are ensuring that our customers' orders are correct and undamaged. The Warehouse Worker will load and unload delivery trucks, pull shipping tickets, and perform other warehouse duties as required in a prompt and safe manner.
Essential Job Functions - Properly stock inventory in the warehouse to ensure safety and cleanliness
- Accurately load and unload delivery trucks
- Safely operate equipment such as forklifts, clamps, etc to move material about the warehouse
- Pulls shipping tickets
- Conduct cycle counts of inventory as required through Total Warehouse Logistics system
- Other duties as assigned
- Ensure prompt, safe, and correct delivery of goods to the customer
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment
- Display consistent attention to safety in accordance with all applicable state and federal regulations
- Interaction with customer and vendor personnel on work/job sites
- Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered products
- Loading and unloading of product into and from vehicles
- Verify that quantities of materials for delivery are correct
- Manage delivery, routes, and timing with supervisor
- Report vehicle service, defects, or repair status
- Report any accidents, traffic violations, or damages to the vehicle or delivered products
- Assist in other warehousing or inventory activities as requested
- Driving a 26 foot box truck non CDL
- Light fabrication using wire saws and band saws.
Requirements - High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience working in a warehouse preferred
- Experience operating a forklift preferred
- Basic computer skills preferred
Physical Requirements The work is performed in non-climate controlled environment with moderate noise level. This job frequently requires the employee to stand; walk; sit; use hands; climb stairs; climb portable ladders to heights of up to 15 ft.; balance; stoop; kneel; push; pull; reach overhead; read; talk or hear. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
