POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor and Director Child Nutrition Services/Warehouse, assist with the general warehouse duties, including the loading and delivery of equipment or supplies to specified District sites. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Fills and delivers requisitions for all schools and other District sites. Receives and stores Child Nutrition and Warehouse supplies in the warehouse, freezer and cooler using the First In, First Out (FIFO) method. Transfers food between kitchens. Picks up and delivers furniture and portable equipment between District sites. Delivers new furniture, equipment and supplies to all District sites. Picks up and delivers large print shop jobs and supplies. Assists in logging and distribution of school co-op orders. Keeps warehouse, freezer and cooler clean and in order. Keeps pallets stacked and discarded cases and supplies safely set aside. Assists in tagging and inventorying all school property and equipment. Assists in taking inventory of warehouse and child nutrition supplies. Services (gas and oil) warehouse vehicles, keeps them clean, and reports needed repair to the Warehouse Supervisor. Transports deposits from schools to warehouse. Follow policies and procedures necessary to comply with HACCP regulations. Process obsolete equipment. Performs small repairs on equipment Perform other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to safely bend, twist and lift 50 pounds overhead.
- Ability to write and understand verbal and written instruction.
- Ability to work outdoors, including in inclement weather.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to formulate tasks and follow through to completion with minimum supervision.
- Ability to safely and legally operate a motor vehicle.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred. Prior experience in a warehouse operation preferred. Valid driver's license. EQUIPMENT USED:
- Outdoor forklift.
- Electric pallet forklift.
- Electric pallet walkie high lift.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Within warehouse and child nutrition offices.
- Inside and outside of school buildings, including in inclement weather.
- This position is very active and requires the physical ability to enable standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and lifting throughout each shift.
