Responsibilities:
Provide guidance to subordinate warehouse personnel and assist in employee issue resolution
* Help assist to oversee, direct and motivate employees
* Help supervisor to direct personnel to achieve departmental targets
* Assist in ensuring performance standards for subordinates are met
* Prioritize activities and take necessary actions to meet Distribution Center targets
* Ensure safety, quality and housekeeping standards are met daily
* Work with supervisor to establish processes to meet ship schedules
* Help ensure that all vital loading functions are executed on a daily basis
* Constantly monitor environment looking for risk areas
* Assist in developing work force to ensure Safety First is a way of life
* Performs overall coordination of all in-house emergency matters
* Carry out daily warehouse workload
* Maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse area
* Detect and report defective materials, faulty operation, and unusual conditions to immediate Supervisor
* Assist in assigning duties
* Train new hires
* Ensure all warehouse functions follow written procedures
* Perform other duties as required or directed
* Follow prescribed safety regulations / guidelines
Requirements:
* Associates degree or equivalent work experience in a warehouse/distribution environment
* At least 1 year warehousing/distribution experience
* Forklift experience
* Basic computer skills - Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
* Basic knowledge of and/or experience with ERP and Warehouse Management Systems
* Knowledge of carrier/transportation procedures
* One year minimum in current skill set with some leadership and training skills
* Required to read, write and comprehend English.
* Ability to balance labor resources to meet fluctuating customer demands and continuously adjust labor resources based on material availability.
* Demonstrate effective communication skills with the supervisor, DC management, and customer service representatives.
* Identify and resolve employee behavioral issues.
* Initiate actions to recognize, motivate, and/or modify employee behavior patterns.
* Willingness to take disciplinary action when necessary to correct continued inappropriate behavior or poor performance.
* Basic understanding of troubleshooting principles.
