Location:WIS-PAK of NORFOLKPosition:Forklift Operator (Warehouse)Reports To:Warehouse ManagerDate:02/15/2024JOB SUMMARY
  • Under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager, the Forklift Operator operates a pallet handling forklift truck and loads or unloads trucks to perform the shipping or receiving functions of finished goods or raw materials, maintains prescribed stock rotation requirements and sorts empty pallets.
JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Note: The job functions relate to the job, not the individual)
  • Operate a forklift truck to load or unload semi-trucks. Monitor the quality of products or raw materials which are being shipped or received. Report any inconsistencies in the quality of materials shipped or received to management.
  • Transport materials within the warehouse, and stack and unstack materials. Sort, remove and replace damaged product. Accurately complete required paperwork and documentation. Sort empty pallets and shells.
  • Remove finished product from palletizers and transport to storage. Follow standardized safety procedures and perform work in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Operate stretch wrap machines, as required.
  • Sweep, mop, and clean warehouse as directed. May operate a floor scrubber machine.
  • May hand stack and sort product, when needed. Perform bailing of recyclable materials.
  • Substitute for other employees, in other job classifications, when needed.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Transport empty can pallets to the depallitizer.
  • Label and tag all full goods pallets, record placement of full goods in warehouse.
  • Transport empty pallets to the pallet dispenser and loading dispenser.
  • Follow all Food Safety and GMP Policies.
JOB DUTIES/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS (Not fundamental job duties)
  • Sweep and mop warehouse.
  • Perform bailing of recyclable materials.
  • Hand stack and sort products.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Requires High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Good skills in English and mathematics.
  • Must complete Forklift Operator's training course and successfully pass to obtain a Forklift Operator's license.
  • Previous forklift experience is helpful, but not required.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate with management and other employees.
  • Must possess legible handwriting skills.
  • Must be able to work under a minimum of supervision.
  • Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
  • Follow all GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Follow all food safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
