Job Description:

Vanguard Soap is a dynamic manufacturer right here in Memphis, Tennessee, where we have been making soap since the 1940s. We focus on higher end natural and specialty bar soaps and liquid personal care products, developing our own unique formulas for different purposes, making hundreds of items sold through major retailers throughout the US.

We are looking for a **Warehouse Manager** to keep us accurate and organized so we can supply a fast paced production team and ship our customers on time every time. Inventory accuracy and making sure we follow processes is extremely important. The team includes warehouse and clerical staff.

**SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:**

**Procurement:**

* Purchase equipment and supplies.

* Work to obtain quality equipment with competitive prices in a timely fashion.

* Negotiate advantageous terms and pricing with vendors.

* Develop and implement strategies/protocol for equipment and supplies.

* Research new products and services to meet company's goals.

* Work with accounting department to reconcile vendor accounts at the end of the month.

* Ensure credit for returns and reverse distribution as necessary.

* Ability to execute, support and effectively handle multiple-product lines responsibility.

* Tracks and updates materials schedules, expedites as required to prevent schedule slippage and advises VP of Operations, program management, and warehouse of deviations from work orders.

* Maximize Productivity-Identifies ways to streamline and Improve efficiency

* Liaise with freight companies to secure best and applicable freight rates and delivery.

**Inventory:**

* Oversee all aspects of inventory and inventory management.

* Monitor and tracks capital equipment.

* Conduct software training and troubleshooting

* Facilitate supply audits each quarter.

**Projects:**

* Develop detailed project plans and track project progress.

* Develop warehouse floor plans, considering operations flow and other general layouts to enhance operational efficiency.

* Work collaboratively and proactively to identify process, sourcing, and supply improvement opportunities with outside vendors, and all levels of delivery chain management.

* Work as a liaison with order management to provide production shipping dates via Excel.

* Work with operations and leadership team on continuous improvement.

* Participate in meetings with the accounting and finance departments.

* Answer the questions of senior executives and directors of the company

**MACHINES OR EQUIPMENT OPERATED:**

Battery, propane operated Fork Truck and manual pallet lift. Associated computer and electric identification equipment requiring transaction and/or data entry skills.

**MINIMUM EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:**

* Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university.

* Materials Management in Manufacturing: 5 years (Preferred)

* Procurement Management: 5 years (Preferred)

* Project Management: 5 years (Preferred)

* Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.

* Must pass advanced level math test, logic test.

* Prior experience using QAD (or other) MRP software is strongly preferred.

* Proven problem solving and root cause analysis skills, and the ability to multi-task.

* Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills with all levels.

* Ability to create various reports, complete analysis of data/information and drive activity.

* Skillful in planning and analyzing the requirements of the production department

* Ability to generate RFQs and source parts and supplies for engineering and production.

* Skilled at researching the market, looking for potential suppliers and designing quotations for the purchase order

* Well-versed with the traditional as well as advanced methods used in inventory control.
