Position Summary... What you'll do... The Area Manager in our Transportation Fleet Maintenance is a crucial role that thinks while leading, motivating, and developing a a shift of technicians performing world class maintenance. The shift is Sunday to Wednesday from 1530 to 0330. About Transportation Fleet Maintenance The Area Manager reports directly to the Shop Operations Manager with a mission to provide a world class preventative maintenance program to our private fleet tractors, trailers, and equipment. You will play an important part in our success by maintaining our private fleet and allowing them to deliver essential goods to our customers. What you'll do:
- Manage team 5-10 hourly technicians.
- Manage daily staffing and workload to meet shop performance goals.
- Manage productivity of responsibilities by analyzing business reports.
- Develop associates by assigning responsibilities and coordinating workloads, monitoring performance, and providing feedback.
- Maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, standards, and procedures.
What you'll bring: - Class 8 mechanical background.
- 1+ years of experience managing technicians.
- 1+ years of experience as a Service Manager, Service Writer or Shop Foreman.
- Working knowledge of service shop operations and procedures.
- Excellent customer service and the ability to motivate and lead a team.
