Job Summary:

This Warehouse Manager plays a key role in Scalo Inc's success by ensuring the warehouse has the required inventory and is delivered to commercial roofing job, sheet metal, and solar jobsites in a timely, safe and professional manner. In addition to managing the warehouse and its team, the Manager assists in the oversight of the fleet of company vehicles and equipment as well as providing support for operations with the crane and crew. The manager also has budgetary, safety, workflow and security responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
  • Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
  • Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system
  • Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement
  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning team members; following up on work results
  • Actively participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding warehouse team
  • Provide leadership to the warehouse team through coaching, mentoring, giving positive as well as corrective feedback
  • Remain abreast of professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Write purchase orders as needed for inventory, equipment, and small project-related purchases
  • Manage the operation and maintenance/repair of the organization's motor vehicles and equipment
  • Oversee DOT compliance and reporting as it relates to the fleet
  • Manage fleet and equipment replacement/maintenance budgets
  • Develop and maintain outside vendor and service provider relationships
  • Maintain up to date vehicle/equipment lists
  • Manage equipment tracking program to ensure the whereabouts of equipment are known and being transferred from project to project correctly
  • Resolve escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments
  • Review daily electronic time sheets (About Time electronic timecard software) for all warehouse, maintenance service, and sheet metal shop team members
  • Attend team and hand off meetings every other week.
  • Release material shipments for multi-delivery construction projects with a focus on continued operations without interruption
  • Manage field team members who might be assigned light duty work
  • Manage warehouse dumpster rotation for both trash and metal recycling

Job Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in warehouse management or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Able to develop annual budgets
  • Must be familiar with inventory control procedures
  • Ability to work independently and within a team effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on accuracy and details
  • Possess a valid driver's license with no suspensions in the past three (3) years
  • Must be able to use analytical skills to make decisions under pressure
  • Physically able to tolerate work outdoors at varying temperatures
  • Must be able to climb ladders, lift equipment, and perform physical tasks as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a related field
  • Construction industry experience
  • Spanish Language proficiency

Salary: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
