JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Senior Warehouse Operations Manager to lead our global shipping operation based in Springfield, Illinois. Looking for a strategic leader with a strong background in warehouse operations who will be responsible for overseeing an effective and efficient global shipping department which meets all safety, quality and performance expectations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee direct performance of all shipping teams to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers.
Lead a multi-level department, consisting of both hourly and salary individuals, by assessing employee performance, facilitating conflict resolution, and assisting supervisors to address repeat issues with corrective actions.
- Coach and mentor direct management reports fostering a positive environment to ensure the team's success and growth.
- Establish and implement department policies, goals, objectives and procedures in conjunction with senior leadership and team members.
- Work with both internal and external customer needs and requirements.
- Provide training, support, direction, and guidance to department personnel to continually develop their work habits, job skills, and safety practices.
- Recommend and administer personnel actions in accordance with company policies and procedures with Human Resource guidance.
- Ensure the accurate tracking and management of inventory levels.
- Demonstrate and support compliance with all safety and cleanliness requirements.
- Promote company policy and the Company's Quality Improvement Process within all department work groups.
- Provide strategic direction in conjunction with the Process Manager in the identification and implementation of key operational improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree preferred, business or supply chain a plus
- 3-5 years minimum supervisory experience in warehouse or distribution environment; preferred 5 years or greater
- Proven track record that demonstrates the ability to supervise diverse work groups in a team environment using effective listening, coaching, training, investigative and problem-solving skills.
- Competent in conflict resolution while creating a healthy work environment
- Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment and effective time management in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision
- Proficient in MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- SAP inventory management experience a plus
- Lean problem-solving training and experience
- Ability to relocate before starting work required (Springfield, Illinois); Days Monday-Friday
