Warehouse Operations Manager
Core Purpose: Oversee strategic warehouse inventory management and operations to ensure compliance with company policies and global standards, focusing on safety, efficiency, and timely material delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor warehouse inventory and ensure stock levels align with operational needs for rail stock and other on-site requirements.
- Lead a team of supervisors and warehouse operators, enforcing company policies and best practices for high performance.
- Oversee and coordinate ERP (SAP) materials module processes with warehouse staff, supporting efficient operations.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of production materials to maintain operational flow, implementing effective material handling processes.
- Escalate material shortage issues as needed, conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Lead annual physical inventory and cycle counting processes, analyzing errors and initiating corrective actions for accuracy.
- Coordinate logistics for inbound and outbound deliveries involving external warehouses, vendors, and customers.
- Manage the flow of non-conforming materials, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Guarantee timely delivery of materials for manufacturing changes and project modifications.
- Design and maintain an efficient materials handling layout to optimize space and facilitate smooth assembly activities.
- Serve as the accountable contact for internal and external audits related to inventory, quality standards, and EHS compliance.
- Support accounting with goods received processes and resolve receiving discrepancies.
- Manage material review processes for obsolete or non-compliant inventory, ensuring swift disposition.
Safety and Sensitivity:
- Safety-sensitive role requiring strict adherence to safety protocols.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse management within the manufacturing industry.
- 5+ years in a managerial role supervising teams, including supervisors, team leads, and warehouse operators.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP Materials Management Module (key user) and SAP production planning and quality modules.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on working effectively in a multicultural setting.
- Proven organizational and prioritization skills, with flexibility and adaptability.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented approach, capable of building internal and external client relationships.
- Availability for occasional short business trips.
- Fluent in English.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Direct supervision of warehouse staff, including planning, organizing, and managing daily activities.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, and handle various objects or tools.
- Must regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 75 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Operates within a warehouse/production setting with exposure to moving mechanical parts and a typically loud noise level. Exposure to specific manufacturing areas may require adherence to additional safety measures.
