Role purpose The Warehouse Operator is a critical role in our plant operations in Sycamore, IL. Incumbents in this role are responsible for all aspects of the warehousing process from receiving and shipping of raw materials and finished goods. Staging raw materials for production. Pulling orders for shipments. Material segregation for hold items. As a Warehouse Operator the incumbent is responsible for:
  • Supporting T&L's EHSQ policies and procedures in the execution of their job responsibilities in routine, non-routine, and emergency conditions.
  • Notifying their supervisor or EHSQ committee member of any spills, equipment malfunctions, environmental conditions, or management practice that could represent an existing or potential safety hazard or significant environmental impact.
  • Notifying their supervisor or EHSQ committee member of any conditions or practices that could represent a nonconformance with the requirements of the EHSQMS or its supporting plans and procedures.
  • Performance of the environmental, health and safety monitoring and inspections according to their job responsibilities and submittal of required records.
  • Support lock tag try, confined space, hot work, and work permits.
  • Understand the lifesaving principles and how they apply to TLIA's work environment.
Main accountabilities
  • Performing all job functions/activities with a commitment to a strong safety mindset and compliance with all outlined safety policies
  • Meeting and exceeding clear housekeeping, sanitation, and GMP standards while strictly following outlined food safety protocols
  • Unloading and Loading trucks; verifying materials
  • Prepares orders by processing requests and open orders
  • Pulling materials and verifying accuracy or orders
  • Sort and place materials in rack and bin locations according to organizational standards
  • Maintain inventory controls
  • Assist in counting physical inventory
  • Packaging and labelling of finished products
  • Documenting accurately required food safety, quality and production information
  • Rotating inventory
Performance measures The incumbent will be measured against site EHS, Quality, Production, Reliability and Leadership goals. Skills and experience required
  • Highschool diploma/GED or equivalent experience required
  • Possessing of a strong, positive safety mind-set while performing all functions/activities
  • Committed to our customers through ensuring compliance with all applicable GMP and food safety policies and procedures
  • Able to communicate openly, honestly, and directly in a non-aggressive fashion with all members of the plant team
  • Self-starting and self-managing
  • Goal-oriented and focused on continuous improvement of themselves as individuals and the operation of the plant
  • Dependable and punctual in meeting expectations for attendance and performance
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds as needed
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, sit, and climb in and out of a forklift
  • Must be able to effectively operate a sit down and stand-up forklift
