Job DescriptionWe are looking for a talented warehouse operator to join our team specializing in our distribution business in Elkhart, IN.In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Under some supervision, follow established procedures and guidelines to receive, handle, store, perform system transactions and dispatch goods in a factory or warehouse
- Receive incoming goods, check for damage and for discrepancies between goods and invoices
- Accurately sort, label, store goods and arrange storage to optimize warehouse space
- Pick, pack, and dispatch incoming and outgoing goods according to written or verbal requests or orders
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery
- Perform cycle counts, prepare bills of lading, and use computer software
ResponsibilitiesTo be successful in this role you will need the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Forklift certified
- Experience in shipping and receiving
- Must be able to physically lift 50 pounds occasionally, wear required personal protective equipment
QualificationsEducation, Licenses, Certifications: High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations. Experience:
- Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience
- Prioritize parts counter sales and support, while being the go-to for warehouse responsibilities.
- Fill in where needed throughout the day, although prioritizing parts department activities.
- Load/unload freight trucks as needed, assume warehouse task ownership.
- Delivering customer orders
- Picking Orders
- Use of forklift
- Focus on Safety
- Walking/Standing 8 hours a day
- Ability to lift 40lbs
Key responsibilities:Performs quality checks for damage and for discrepancies between goods and invoices/sales order for Shipping and or receivingReceive incoming goods, accurately sort, label/package, store goods in the appropriate location, and arrange storage to optimize warehouse space.Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping tasks and machine cleaning tasks and performs planned operator care and maintenance tasks.Skills:Willing to learn new skillsDetail oriented for accuracy in Shipping/receivingTeam playerForklift certified desiredStandup Forklift certified DesiredCompensation and Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
