Who We Are:
Are you looking for a new opportunity to start fresh? Do you like lots of time off? Grain Millers, Inc. is a leading manufacturer and merchandiser of whole grain ingredients utilized in food products served around the world. While you may not know us directly, you almost certainly know our products. We have supplied food ingredients to many of the world's largest food companies for over 37 years. As one of the world's largest conventional and organic oat millers, our legacy is built on being more than just an ingredient supplier. We are a proactive partner, working with others to do what is right.
Who We Are Looking For:
This position is responsible for assisting in many areas, but primarily you will be operating the toting stations, filling super sacks with oatmeal and other grain ingredients to send to our customers for use in some of your favorite products. After filling the supersack and removing it from the tote station with a forklift, you will use our warehouse information system to enter the product into inventory and print labels to be applied for tracking purposes. When the supersack has been labelled, tied shut, and stretch wrapped, you will then take it to our warehouse for temporary storage. While you are waiting for your next supersack to fill, you will be organizing supplies, checking magnets for foreign material, performing quality checks, and keeping your work area clean. Most super sacks are stored in drive through industrial racks, so forklift and drive through rack experience is preferred. You will also periodically be loading bulk trailers of oatmeal and oat flour and helping mill operators as needed. You must have the ability to communicate and work as a team member and follow all safety policies and good manufacturing practices.
Our Warehouse Packaging team plays a critical role in making sure our customers get the correct industrial sized ingredients every time. You will be one of the last to make sure our product arrives to our customers living up to our quality standards.
The Schedule:
We are looking for both day and night shift 4 on 4 off warehouse utility employees. Work hours are either 7 AM to 7:30 PM or 7 PM to 7:30 AM. This type of schedule means only working around 180 days per year as opposed to a traditional Monday through Friday job where you work around 260 days each year. Throw in our 3 weeks of PTO your first year, and track record of not forcing overtime (but it's there if you want it) and you will have plenty of time to enjoy your life outside of work.
