Description Job Description- Warehouse Sanitation Associate The primary function of this position includes but is not limited to the general custodial care and sanitation activities of the warehouse to prevent the contamination of food and food contact-non-food products. The Warehouse Sanitation Associate must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. Essential Duties Include
- Remove all trash and debris from the warehouse and dock areas.
- Clean up any spills of product or other foreign matter.
- Operate power scrubber, sweeper walk behind scrubber and powered industrial equipment.
- Clean warehouse walls, floors, racking, doors, etc.
- Follow the daily schedule as assigned by the supervisor to ensure a continuous sanitation maintenance program.
- Maintain the warehouse in a clean and safe working environment.
- Notify management about actual or potential food safety issues.
- Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor and Operations Management.
- Understand and comply with all applicable company policies, safety policies and food safety principles.
- Comply with all applicable State/Federal laws, regulations, and policies (i.e. OSHA, HACCP, etc).
- Attend all required company meetings.
Requirements Education/Training
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety requirements
- Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Previous warehouse experience preferred
- Previous sanitation experience e preferred
Job Knowledge and Skills This is a full-time position. Must be able to work the assigned schedule. This position requires working 10+ hour shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays. Work hours may vary, or change based on departmental requirements.
- Must be able to use, or learn to use, all equipment and tools used to perform the job
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must successfully pass a controlled substance screening test
- Must adhere to all safety practices and company policies
- Meet or exceed established cases per error goals
- Able to work rapidly at a constant pace for the entire shift, in a fast-paced environment
- Develop a working knowledge of the product
Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the Warehouse Sanitation Associate will constantly work near fast-moving powered industrial equipment and experience exposure to vibration and moderate to high noise levels. The work environment includes congested and high traffic areas, slippery floors, working alongside forklifts, single pallet jacks, electric walk behind jacks and hand carts. Walking and working on concrete flooring. Duties will frequently require working in varying climates. Temperatures range from below zero in the freezers to 95°F degrees or above outdoors.
