Job DescriptionSummary: Coordinates activities of incoming and outgoing shipments. Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas. Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, and records shortages. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Essential Duties:
- Before start of shift; safety and preventive maintenance forklift inspection and PPE.
- Assist and understand Kan-ban inventory system
- Participate in Physical Inventories
- Unloading of raw materials and finished goods
- Transport received raw materials to their respective storage units after receiver's quality inspection is complete and the receipt is logged in the raw material logbook.
- Data entry of the receipts in the NAV ERP computer system.
- Receive Returned Goods and log in the returned goods logbook and match-up to the correct RGA number issued and transport to the respective department for re-work and disposition with Quality Approval
- PM Checks on the forklifts.
- Proper operation and use of the automatic dock plates and dock restraints.
- Monitor the Truck Drivers entering the facility for DOT Security.
- Monitor the Use of proper PPE for the Truck Drivers entering the facility.
- Monitor the safe storage of the product in the quarantine area of receiving until placed in proper storage units.
- Use of current Good Manufacturing Practice.
- Compliance to the DOT Security Plan.
- Unloads trucks, verifies merchandise, matches purchase orders to sales orders and distributing orders to sales associates for processing.
- Completes customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions in determining which items to move, gather or distribute/ship.
- Handles and moves materials from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated areas.
- Sort and places materials on racks, pallets, shelves, or bins accordingly.
- Completes requisitions, work orders and requests for materials, tools, or other stock items. Distributes items as deemed necessary.
- Completes customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets. Relocates orders accordingly.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Experience in operation of counterbalance forklift.
- Knows when to reject inbound shipments that are damaged or contaminated, and to make note of it on the Bill of Lading to enable the company of proper credit.
- Experience with shipping hazardous materials
- Follows the Team concept and works closely with the group leader
