Job Description:
Responsible for ensuring quality customer service; through the efficient operation of the warehouse/ shipping and receiving department by processing orders for receipt and shipment in a complete, accurate and timely manner, according to sales orders, work orders and other directives by performing the following duties.Duties & Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Maintains clean, orderly, and safe work areas at all times.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and safety procedures.
  • Follows daily manufacturing sales orders giving special attention to various materials.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork for deliveries and submits to management each day.
  • Records labor and materials used in filling orders on documents according to established procedures.
  • Communicates delivery problems to customers and management promptly.
  • Assists customers at the sales counter with will-call orders and walk-ins.
  • Completes customer orders to include obtaining appropriate material from storage in accordance with picking ticket.
  • Prepares Bills of Ladings for truck shipments and UPS documentation for parcel shipments.
  • Pulls products from inventory and packages them for shipment, recording information in an accurate and timely manner according to established policies.
  • Prepares shipments to include boxing materials, labeling with appropriate shipping information, and completing appropriate paperwork.
  • Performs spot checks of products to ensure adherence to approved quality standards.
  • Loads and unloads shipping trucks as required by operating fork trucks pallet jacks, lifting and carrying merchandise and stocking in appropriate areas throughout the warehouse.
  • Verifies quantities of deliveries and merchandise serial numbers by comparing merchandise to packing slips.
  • Visually inspects deliveries for damage and notifies management of discrepancies.
  • Reports any malfunctions, concerns, or discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Maneuvers heavy materials with the use of forklift, pallet, and hand truck as required.
  • Monitors related supplies and requisitions necessary additions.
  • Completes some fabrication by hose cutting and crimping, pipefitting, drilling, sawing, grinding, testing and other procedures.
  • Assists in other areas of operations including shipping, fabrication, building maintenance, and service department.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.Duties and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.

Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Prior shipping & receiving work-related experience required.

  • Manually lifting up to 70 pounds.
  • Use of written and oral communication.
  • Capable of standing/walking more than 80% of work time.
  • 100% of working time (except for assigned breaks) is spent on the production floor.
