Title: Warehouse Leader Department: Operations Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor Location: 355 Food Center Drive Bronx, NY 10474 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Primary Purpose of Job: This position calls for a professional individual with warehouse experience looking for a career and opportunity to be a part of a team on a mission to end hunger. Performing daily warehouse operation duties up to and including selection, shipping, receiving, inventory cycle counts, cleaning, and other operational duties. Represent the warehouse professionals with other departments and volunteers. This is a role for developing leadership skills. Duties and Responsibilities: Approximately 35% of duties will be to: - Ensure a professional code of conduct - Follow all organizational safety policies and procedures - Maintains selection productivity requirement - Help maintain a clean and safe working environment - Load and unload inbound and outbound trailers and trucks - Exemplifies courtesy and respect to all warehouse staff, management, volunteers, and guests - Upkeep of assigned equipment (pallet jacks/scanners, etc.) - Completes daily assigned tasks and paperwork given by the management team - Take part in off-site organization events such as fundraisers, new hire orientation, and special events Approximately 65% of duties will be to: - Conduct volunteer repack on and off site - Represent warehouse professionals in cross organizational groups and meetings - Conduct monthly safety and team building meetings with warehouse professionals - Liaison between warehouse professionals and management during monthly meetings Qualifications: - Ability to safely operate electric pallet jack; Forklift and Hilo experience is a plus - Knowledge of basic warehouse operations and food distribution - Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team - Able to multitask and work in a fast paced and diverse environment - Capable of properly lifting up to 75 lbs. - Safety boots required - The ability to work in a freezer environment (below 0 degrees) - Basic communication skills in reading, writing, and math skills are required - Open to schedule change when necessary - Communication skills and professional conduct - Committed to Food Bank's mission
