Job Description:
DescriptionSummary: The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for performing tasks involved in data entry, pertaining to warehouse products, including but not limited to; maintaining appropriate stock levels; communicating mis-shipments to vendors as well and keeping accurate records. Proper update of all substitution items, and ordering substitutions promptly to have a smaller supply of aged product, and a large supply of the current product without a disruption to our supply chain. Discontinuation of all items that will not be carried over into the new buy year. Contacting New and Existing Vendors to obtain the proper documentation required to purchase. Double-checking/ Following up as needed with Procurement Maintaining stock of items throughout the beginning of the new buy year; increasing or decreasing stock, to maintain the best savings for the warehouse. General Responsibilities (Include the following [Other duties may be assigned.]):
  • Data entry
  • Tracks all inbound and outbound items through scanning to ensure accountability in inventory.
  • Verifies orders and ensures entry into the inventory management system.
  • Operates a clean and safe work environment, ensuring that all areas of the facility are well maintained, kept orderly and free of debris.
  • Maintains quality standards set forth by warehouse management.
Qualifications: Prior data entry Good organization Detail Oriented Basic math Good communication Basic IT knowledge and Bar Code Knowledge Inventory and Warehouse Knowledge Computer Knowledge Preferred Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED and at least 2 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution center.
  • At least 6 months experience operating motorized material handling equipment.
  • At least 6 months experience with radio frequency (RF) scanning.
  • At least 6 months experience entering and retrieving data in an inventory management system.
