SENECA TANK JOB DESCRIPTIONJOB TITLE: Warehouse Specialist DEPARTMENT: WarehouseFLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Dealership ManagerCREATED/REVISED:Summary: Reporting to the Dealership Manager, the incumbent assists each area of the warehouse on an as-need basis, shipping and receiving freight, assembling parts and hoses, and distributing parts within the warehouse and to various departments. The job holder also operates straight trucks and tractor-trailer units for local and long-distance runs.Supervisory Responsibility: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Essential Job Functions:Shipping/Receiving (25%)Prepare bills of lading to route materialsPack, seal, label and palletize to prepare items for shipping, using hand/power toolsDetermine shipping methods, routes, and rates for materials to be shippedMake arrangements with carriers to schedule shipmentsRecord shipment data such as weight and charges for recordkeepingConfer or correspond with internal customers to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specificationsRequest and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain necessary inventoryExamine shipment contents for damage and to compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracyRecord shipment damages or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposesReceive parts into inventory by making entries in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systemHose Parts Assembly (25%)Build power take-offs (PTO), valves, pumps, and compressors to fulfill sales ordersBuild and repair hoses by cutting sections to length, mitering hose ends, and attaching, crimping and/or bending ferrules and bands, using tools such as calipers and hydraulic draw bar machineryShop Parts Distribution (25%)Pull and distribute stock-parts to the Service ShopTransport parts, equipment, and packages to temporary holding areas, warehouse bins, or departmentsCharge out parts to work orders utilizing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systemPurchase raw materials and other shop suppliesRestock returned parts and equipment in proper warehouse storage locationsTransportation (25%)Operate straight truck and tractor-trailer units locally and long-distance for pickup, delivery and service/repairs.Non-Essential Functions:Grounds MaintenanceRemove snow and ice from business premises using shovel, snow blower, ice-melt push spreader and pickup/ tractor-mounted plowFleet-Vehicle and Equipment Management Coordinate daily movement, and ensure operational preparation of fleet vehicles and motorized equipmentCompetencies:Organizational skillsAttention to detailCompetencies Continued:Ability to read, write, speak and understand EnglishAbility to balance conflicting prioritiesAbility to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbersAbility to operate hand and power toolsAbility to operate a computer and utilize various software applicationsMechanical skillsMemorization skillsAbility to get along well with othersAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writingSkill to read measuring toolsPhysical Demands:Position requires ability to pass DOL requirements of a grade 3 heavy work physical capacity profile.
