Job Description:

The primary purpose of this position is to oversee all warehouse functions and set expectations for all warehouse employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise up to 15 employees (Number of employees could increase over time as business needs increase).
  • Process outbound shipments in the ERP.
  • Organize and oversee pick and pack functions.
  • Perform a quality check on every shipment that leaves the warehouse.
  • Communicate with Customer Service to ensure on time delivery.
  • Provide direction to the warehouse team.
  • Create and maintain an environment of role clarity, team work, safe work practices and regularity.
  • Participate in and lead the health and safety efforts on the warehouse floor.
  • Liaise with internal and external resources as they relate to equipment maintenance, plant housekeeping and grounds control.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including but not limited to recruiting, training and performance management.

Qualifications:

  • High-School diploma considered an asset.
  • 4-6 years relevant experience and/or training in managing people.
  • Safety training; knowledge of a supervisor's role and responsibilities in safety.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
  • Experience using ERP systems.
  • A willingness to learn and be cross trained.
  • Certification in First Aid/CPR considered an asset.
  • A valid fork truck license or previous experience is required.
  • Computer literacy is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Required to balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Constantly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch.
  • Expected to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
