Warehouse Supervisor Job Description
Position Overview:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing material handling operations, ensuring smooth staging and preparation processes, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves leading teams to optimize warehouse efficiency while upholding quality and safety protocols.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Material Handling & Inventory Management:
- Oversee the movement of raw materials, components, and labels (Kits) to manufacturing areas and ensure the timely return of finished goods to the warehouse.
- Manage proper disposal and handling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials.
- Ensure accurate inventory control, utilizing scanners and warehouse management systems (e.g., ERPix, PeopleSoft, BPICS).
2. Staging & Preparation:
- Supervise staging operations, including the scheduling of materials and prioritizing workflow to meet production timelines.
- Deliver components to staging areas, verify release status, and ensure labeling and spray-down procedures are performed accurately.
- Oversee the transfer of materials from staging to preparation, ensuring proper wipe-down processes and utilization of pass-through areas.
3. Operational Efficiency:
- Manage insert folding operations, including equipment cleaning, setup, line clearance, and minor maintenance.
- Monitor and track accountability procedures, ensuring compliance with batch record documentation and computer entries.
- Lead efforts to streamline workflows, identify process improvements, and optimize warehouse organization.
4. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure operations align with CGMP standards, FDA regulations, and state-specific requirements for 503B outsourcing facilities.
- Maintain a safe and compliant warehouse environment by enforcing safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
5. Leadership & Team Development:
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work culture, empowering teams to perform efficiently and exceed expectations.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate warehouse staff to enhance skill development and productivity.
- Provide clear direction on priorities, performance goals, and quality expectations.
6. Data-Driven Management:
- Use data analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure warehouse performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare performance reports to support decision-making and optimize operational strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3-5+ years of warehouse supervision experience, preferably in a manufacturing or regulated environment.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and related software.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, material handling, and regulatory compliance (e.g., CGMP, FDA).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data and implement process improvements to achieve operational goals.
