Managing and Directing

* Coordinate a safe and efficient inbound operation by directing the work assignments and performance of Leads, Associates and Mentors.

* Effectively communicate with fellow associates, host management, carriers, vendors and FHI management.

* Train and develop Associates and Lead personnel.

* Enforce FHI policies, procedures related to the inbound operations.

* Investigate conduct violations and discipline associates found in violation of the expected conduct.

* Respond to, investigate, and resolve associate grievances and complaints.

* Attend periodic management training, career development workshops and seminars.

* Make recommendations and implement changes that improve associate engagement, increase performance and low cost.

Attendance and Work Schedules

* Enforce attendance policies and procedures.

* Supervise daily sign in/out procedures to ensure all hours are accurately recorded to include the hours worked, breaks and attendance concerns.

* Develop work schedules to ensure the proper number of associates are available to handle the inbound volume each day.

* Based on volumes, balance labor to minimize cost while achieving the key performance goals.

Safety

* Conduct pre-shift safety briefs and perform stretching/warm up exercises.

* Monitor and ensure safe unloading and general warehouse practices.

* Conduct safety observations and audits as required.

* Enforce safety standards for use of powered industrial equipment.

* Implement and enforce policies and procedures that reduce workplace injuries and incidents.

* Enforce good housekeeping standards.

* Ensure all accident reporting requirements and procedures are followed for any accident or injury that occurs on the job in accordance with all safety standards and regulations.

* Enforce FHIs freight damage policies and ensure all instances of damaged freight are reported timely according to procedures.

Administration of Personnel

* Effectively recommend individuals to be hired and promoted.

* Monitor new associate development to ensure standards and efficiency are effectively taught during training.

* Has the authority to discipline, up to and including effectively recommending the termination of associates.

**Qualifications**

Ability to speak and write English for effective communication. Basic math skills. Attention to detail and ability to follow directions. Mental reasoning capabilities and mature problem-solving skills while managing multiple priorities. Interact respectfully and courteously with associates, co-workers, management, and customers. Demonstrate safety consciousness and set tone for safe, productive, respectful work environment. Demonstrate understanding of preventive measures to reduce freight and property damage. Leadership skills and ability to supervise people and production effectively. Must have valid drivers license and pass consumer background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

A higher education focused towards business, supply chain or a relevant focus and/or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience working in warehouse environments. 3-5 years of experience in an inbound receiving role with WMS experience. 2-3 years of leading teams greater than 15 associates.
