**Warehouse Technician**

**Department:** 1645 - ATL Warehouse **Location:** Atlanta, GA

This position is responsible for receiving, handling, un/loading, checking, stocking, packing, and shipping materials.

Receives incoming materials from various suppliers and verifies material is complete, free of damage and correct item and quantity. Enters receipt information including shelf life, when applicable, into the ERP system. Completes a Trouble Ticket for all nonconforming materials.

Gathers receiving documents (i.e. certificate of conformance, shelf life, lot number, ITAR information, etc.) and forwards to the procurement department for retention based on contractual requirements.

Packages material in accordance with contractual preservation method and label per contract requirements (May include operations such as bagging and tagging).

Places inventoried NSN items into assigned location based on information received from automated handheld or manual system. Places non-inventories into customer-specific holding areas until it can be loaded into containers for shipment.

Selects inventoried NSN items for selected outbound customer order(s) based on information received from batch reports on the handheld receivers.

Creates outbound shipping documentation, (Advance Shipping Notice (ASN), Packing List/Slip, Bill of Lading, etc.), along with any carrier shipping documentation [online or hard copy] and secures to outbound freight, including hazardous materials.

Packages and ships confirming customer orders based on the address book, item requirements and/or contract requirements. Checks for item description accuracy, quantity, and proper outbound paperwork application before staging in the appropriate carrier area.

Uses appropriate MHE equipment to load outbound freight onto ocean containers/trucks (surface or air) for delivery to customers.

Logs all visitors in the visitor log, checking credentials and denies access to those who do not meet the entry requirements.

Follows all safety rules and guidelines while addressing safety hazards to the Warehouse Manager. Performs MHE equipment in accordance with equipment standards checklist.

Performs weekly cycle count and participates in the year-end physical inventory.

Works within the department quality guidelines.

**Hours of Operation**

This position will operate Monday-Friday, based on the Warehouse hours of operation.

Based on need, weekend work may be required.

**Travel Requirements**

No travel requirements for this position exist.

**Supervisory Responsibilities**

None.

**Knowledge and Skill Requirements:** *any combination of equivalent education and work experience will be considered*

**Education:**

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

**Work Experience:**

2 years of experience working in an automated distribution warehouse environment including documentation.

**Skill Based Requirements:**

Prior Fork lift experience a must. Current fork lift certification preferred.

Hazmat certification preferred.

It is critical that we deliver what our customer is requesting the first time as well as maintain an accurate understanding of our inventory. A successful candidate will have strong attention to detail.

Our warehouse works together as a team to accomplish what we need for our customers. Must have a willingness to jump-in and assist other members of the team whenever needed.

Ability to maintain professionalism at all times.

Excellent customer service skills.

PC proficiency including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Medium Work - Exerting up to 60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move product, stock shelves, and maintain inventory. Must be able to move material of varying weight with or without equipment.

This individual in this position will be required to regularly communicate with fellow staff to answer inquiries and perform other job related tasks. Must be able to exchange information clearly and accurately in all situations.

This position requires mobility throughout assigned distribution center. Must be able to accept deliveries, process orders, unload delivery trucks, stock shelves, and conduct inventory reviews.

This position requires some of the time to be spent in front of a computer screen utilizing a keyboard. Must be able to accurately perceive and identify sensitive tracking information.

Exposure to an open floor, indoor warehouse environment; expect regular staff interaction and interruption throughout the workday. Steel toed shoes are required when operating in this position.

Exposure to loud noises, and hot or cold environments (depending on season).
