Summary:

Responsible for safely operating a shag truck to move semi-trailers in and out of loading docks and around or between company manufacturing buildings.

The successful candidate will work a continental shift from 6 AM - 6 PM.

Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities may include the following:

  • Follow all health and safety laws.
  • Helps and assists the general plant when there are no deliveries.
  • Operate shrink wrap equipment and fork lifts in the warehouse.
  • Haul pallets to and from warehouse for release.
  • Perform maintenance checks on the truck and trailer to prevent break-downs and assure favorable safety inspections.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date driver logs.
  • Practice good public relations by being patient and courteous to customers.
  • Assist customers in unloading truck when needed.
  • Checks bills of lading when unloading trucks to verify correct counts.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) AND at least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license with CDL.
  • Safe driving record.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and comprehend documents and verbal instructions in English for Safety, ISO, and work related tasks.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
