Since 1954, Woodgrain is proud to be family owned and operated.Summary:Warehouse workers at Woodgrain are responsible for receiving and coordinating the distribution of materials, tools, equipment, and products. Primary duties include unloading and loading shipments, maintaining inventory, and ensuring a clean, efficient warehouse. Attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to safety are crucial. This position may also require delivering products to customers and includes physically loading and securing doors on trucks for shipment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Reads customer orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.* Processes incoming shipments by handling paperwork, checking contents, and transporting materials to storage or designated areas using forklifts, hand trucks, or rolling carts.* Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins by size, type, style, color, or product code.* Prepares worksheets or tickets based on customer specifications.* Assembles customer orders from stock, places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to the packing station or shipping department.* Marks materials with identifying information and maintains inventory records.* Weighs or counts items for distribution within the plant to ensure adherence to company standards.* Uses computer systems to enter records and prepare worksheets or tickets as per customer specifications.* Conducts daily cycle counts, identifies and addresses inventory discrepancies.* Attends all safety training and meetings and complies with OSHA and Woodgrain's safety policies.* Performs routine maintenance on tools used, ensuring they are clean and functional, and reports larger repairs to a supervisor.* Compares identifying information, counts, weighs, or measures outgoing shipment items to verify information against invoices or orders.* Organizes the layout of shipments in trucks, ensuring efficient use of space.* Inspects material handling equipment for defects, notifying maintenance or arranging for outside repair if needed.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE* High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.* Two years of CDL - A driving experience required.LANGUAGE SKILLS* Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and to write simple correspondence. Capable of presenting information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.CUSTOMER INTERACTION SKILLS* Able to communicate effectively with customers, maintain professionalism, and resolve customer issues promptly.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS* Proficiency in basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.OTHER SKILLS/CERTIFICATION* Forklift certification required.* Proficiency in SX.e Navigation, Warehouse Transfer, Work Order, Reports, and Inquiries. Formal and web-based SX.e training sessions available.* Must maintain a valid CDL - A license.REASONING ABILITY* Ability to solve practical problems and handle various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Capable of interpreting written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions and optimizing loading to simplify unloading for drivers.PHYSICAL DEMANDS* Regularly required to sit, handle objects, reach, and communicate. Frequent standing and walking required. Must regularly lift 50-85 pounds and push 100 pounds. Requires specific vision abilities, including close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.WORK ENVIRONMENT* The work environment is typically moderate in noise and requires the use of safety equipment such as protective eyewear, earplugs, and hard-toe shoes.
