General Summary:
- The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for the performance of a variety of data-entry tasks, such as recording and keeping records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- They check each shipment against shipping invoices or bills of lading.
- This role is responsible for the timely and efficient completion of a variety of daily functions related to inbound and outbound processes, which includes data-entry, report development and generation, scheduling, filing and internal and external customer communications.
- Position is responsible for maintaining standards of safety, accuracy and productivity
Primary Responsibilities
- Performs Data Entry functions
- Coordinates and schedules pick-ups
- Ensures timely and accurate shipment processing
- Responsible for collecting, collating and disseminating the departmental data in the appropriate formats
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of related data processing experience, ideally within a distribution center environment
- One (1) year of experience involved in performing work in a warehouse/clerical environment that requires the use of various warehouse/clerical practices
- PC skills required (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (EXCEL, WORD)
- Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) equipment is preferred
- Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail and flexibility in meeting deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
