YOUR IMPACT AS: Warehouse WorkerAs a Warehouse Worker, you'll play an essential role in the efficient operation of our warehouse. Your efforts in inventory management, order picking, shipping, and safety compliance will directly support our mission to fight food insecurity. In this role, you'll be responsible for receiving and inspecting shipments, ensuring all products meet our quality standards before storing them using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method. Your expertise in operating warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks will keep our operations running smoothly, as you perform maintenance checks and ensure safety at all times. Beyond the operational tasks, you'll be a friendly and professional representative of Second Harvest, delivering excellent customer service to Food Bank partners, supporting agencies, and donors. Your ability to maintain a clean and safe warehouse will uphold our reputation for excellence, and your commitment to food safety protocols will guarantee that every product handled is safe and ready for distribution. WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and while prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred, we're willing to provide the training you need to succeed. Forklift experience is a plus, and we'll ensure you receive the certification necessary to thrive in this role.Physical stamina is essential, as you'll need the ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varying conditions for extended periods. We also require a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and the use of a personal vehicle with insurance.
