It is the primary responsibility of the Warming House Attendant to provide leadership, enforce rules, and implement safe recreation practices both on the rinks and in the warming house. The City of Bemidji operates two Warming Houses - City Park and Nymore. The facilities operate based on the weather and are typically open from December through February. $50 incentive bonus for working the duration of the season! Warming House Hours of Operation
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 3:30 p.m-8:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday 12:00 p.m.-8:00p.m.
- Extended hours on non-school days and holidays

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. - Oversee ice rinks and warming house by enforcing rules and maintaining safe, orderly conduct.
- Responsible for opening and closing warming house, when scheduled.
- Provide assistance to patrons (i.e. lacing up skates, answering questions).
- Provide direction in the event of an emergency.
- Perform general maintenance such as shoveling or sweeping light snow off rinks and walkways and general cleaning of the warming house.
- Provide verbal and written reports regarding attendance, injuries, incidents, and weather conditions.
- Report acts of vandalism and/or equipment needing repair.
PERIPHERAL DUTIES
- Performs other Parks and/or Public Works related duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation & Experience:
- This position requires a high school diploma, its equivalent or current enrollment.
- Preferably, some work experience related to arena and/or outdoor recreational facilities maintenance.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the City of Bemidji's rules and guidelines for using the warming house and skating rinks.
- Ability to demonstrate courtesy and tact when dealing with the public.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks in an organized and timely manner.
- Ability to arrive and leave work on time, as scheduled.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Parks Superintendent via verbal and written reports.
- Flexibility for scheduling.
- Knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
- Skill in the operation of listed tools and equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time
Special Requirements:
- Must possess a valid State driver's license or have the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
- Hours of operation include evenings, weekends, holidays.
- Must demonstrate good communication and public relation skills.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATIONTOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
- Hand tools for ice maintenance and snow removal (e.g. shovel, broom, ice scoop), lighting system, and miscellaneous cleaning and maintenance equipment.
