Join us in our commitment to sustainability and be a part of a team that makes quality and craftsmanship a part of their everyday lives.POSITION OVERVIEW:Responsible for operating machinery in the Finish department in a textile manufacturing plant.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Move pallets of fabric
  • Follow detailed specifications for fabric
  • Load fabric into machines
  • Operate machinery
  • Unload fabric from machines
  • Check fabric specifications, ensuring the finished fabric meets quality standards
  • Clean machines and work areas multiple times throughout the shift
  • Perform all duties under safety rules and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Basic industrial sewing skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in teams
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to lift 60 - 100 lbs on occasion (bags of chemicals, drums of chemicals, recover wet fabric from machines)
  • Able to stand and walk for the entire scheduled shift on the concrete floor
  • Able to walk in wet and slippery conditions
  • Able to climb ladders periodically and steps repeatedly
  • Able to regularly push and pull manual pallet jacks and rolling carts with 100 - 1000 pound loads
  • Able to bend and use abdominal and lower back muscles repeatedly for the entire scheduled shift
  • Able to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble small objects
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • two or more years of production experience preferred
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Production Mill with exposure to noise, dust, warm temperatures, wet environment, and chemicals requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment
