Northwest Arkansas Media (NWA Media) has an opening for an entry-level sports reporter for the Washington County Enterprise Leader, a weekly publication covering Farmington, Prairie Grove, and Lincoln communities. The right candidate for this position will develop sources, engage school leaders, and be willing to learn. The reporter will cover sports, including game attendance, writing on deadline, photography for high school and other sporting events, and other duties as assigned. This person will also develop sports features to give our readers a sense of the people and players who make high school sports unique.
We're looking for a reporter who can tell stories on multiple platforms and is comfortable on social media. The position requires night and occasional weekend work and answers to the Washington County Enterprise-Leader editor. Working knowledge of AP style and principles of journalism also required. Experience at a college or weekly publication a plus, but other, relevant experience will be considered.
